“But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life” Romans 6:22
In Romans chapter six Paul exhorts believers that we are no longer slaves of sin because we have died to sin. He reminds us when Jesus was buried after His crucifixion, our sin nature was buried as well, and when Jesus rose from the grave, our spirits also rose from spiritual death. Since our sin nature is dead, we no longer have to live to please its desires! Instead, we have been given the ability to use our bodies to glorify God! Paul sums it all up in verse twenty-two, when he tells us we have been set free from sin, and therefore are living as servants of God and producing fruit for Him, and the end result will be eternal life!
The first vision of Breakthrough Youth Ministries is to see people set free from their sins and struggles with temptations. We believe victory can only be found in Jesus Christ. Whoever the Son makes free will be free indeed (John 8:36). The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit (Romans 8:1). Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Those who call on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:13). For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16).
The second vision of Breakthrough Youth Ministries is to become servants of God who bear fruit to holiness. We want to impact our homes, schools, and communities by serving others by preferring them and esteeming them better than ourselves. Jesus said if anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all (Mark 9:35). Whoever desires to be great among you, let him be your servant (Matthew 20:26). If anyone serves Me, My Father will honor (John 12:26). In lowliness of mind esteem others better than yourself (Phil. 2:3). Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men (Phil. 2:5-7).
The third vision of Breakthrough Youth Ministries is to have our hearts and minds ready for the coming of Christ and spending eternity with Him. We live our lives on Earth as servants and we bear fruit toward holiness in expectation of our eternal home in heaven. We are looking forward to the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ (Titus 2:13). We who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord (1 Thess. 4:17). We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed – in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (1 Cor. 15:51-52). The end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers (1 Peter 4:7). Abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming (1 John 2:28).
